Allow setting of markers in time for one-time events (software updates etc)
It would be awsome if it was possible to allow setting markers in time for specific events. For example to mark software updates or the roll-out of new features and see how those influence the tracked values.

We are definitely planning to support this via a annotations metric type. This is on our short list for planned functionality so it should be available fairly soon.

Users can select 'kiosk'/'presentation' mode
Proposed on Twitter by @hukl: https://twitter.com/#!/hukl/status/199547945962582016
I believe this is referring to a single graph (dashboards don't have that much chrome to begin with), but I need @hukl to confirm.

Users can select a logarithmic scale
Enable users to configure a logarithmic scale either as a per-metric attribute or possibly per-axis on an instrument.

Increase resolution of data points for specific time-ranges
I've seen a couple of feature requests that are similar to this, but I'll put a bit more detail into this one instead of voting one up.
It would be very useful if over the last 24hrs I could select a time-range (by clicking and dragging on the graph -- I know highcharts supports this) having it zoom in and then increasing the resolution by which data points are grouped (like a drop-down -- say 1min/5min/15min).
I don't have the ability to view statistics within 3 hrs of them being collected, especially if its 1am in the morning and I… more

Custom date ranges are now available as a rough-cut feature flag, if you’d like to try them out ping us at support@librato.com and we can add your account to the enabled group.

Wildcard metric selection
I have a number of the metrics of the form
category.one.median
category.two.medianUsing either either 'category' or 'median' as a search term gives more than the five results shown in the correlate drop-down. It would be even nicer to just type category.*.median and have them all added to a graph. Wildcards would be handy on the metrics list as well.

Create a graph from checked metrics
I often want to add a set of related metrics to graph, and right now I have to add them one by one, switching back and forth to tab with a filtered metric list to remember the exact names. I would be nice to simply check the desired metrics in the list and then create a graph, just as you can delete several metrics now.

Users can select custom colors in the legend view
It would be great if a user could change the colors of graphs directly in the legend by clicking on the colored rectangle. A color picker would show up and you could assign arbitrary colors.
For example lets say you have an instrument showing successful logins and failed logins. Right now I could end up having this metric with a green and blue graph which is really not that great. I'd rather assign the failed logins a red and the successful ones green.
If this feature of customizing graph colors exists somewhere I couldn't find it yet :)

Add a collapsable sidebar with metrics, instruments, and dashboards
Right now my workflow is basically to use tabs to open the stuff I care about (all of it) and ignore the Metrics interface, for 2 reasons:
1. There's no way to switch from viewing one page to another without going through a list page (specific to the item type - ie, click Dashboards).
2. I have to know whether I want a metric, a dashboard, a correlation, or an instrument before I see a list of them.
I basically want a view that's geared for daily use after the metrics have been created and configured. I see this as… more

Make interface more easily viewable
I'm finding the dark theme hard to view.

We’ve discussed doing a high-contrast toggle able theme, do you have this issue with just certain parts of the site or all of it?

Alert on counter deltas
Triggering alerts based on a metric value makes sense for gauges, but for counters it should be based on a delta.

Alert message need a link to stop this alert
In the email msg from an alert I get 'only' a way to go to this metric.
(when I go there the alert is already disabled in the account I was logged in for)
We need additional info from which account this alert is AND a link to dis-able it too.Now the msg looks like:
Metric Light_Intensity_across_sensors has triggered an alert!Metric: Light_Intensity_across_sensors
Value: 584.0
Source: 5ccc4f
Triggered at: 2012-03-09 20:13:00 UTC

In dashboard give same color for same source
Give same metrics the SAME color, so we will be able to relate/compare different metrics of the same source in different graphs in a dashboard,

Daily Resolution?
I have a number of cases where retrieving data at a 1-day resolution would be very useful.
Simple example: "miles run per day" is more useful to me than "miles run per hour".

We’re definitely going to support this, just debating whether we use a purely client-side solution or we support it through the API.

Need simple tutorial
I would like to see a simple tutorial, even using curl commands
1. Create a graph
2. Update the graph with values
3. Pull it downThis would be great!

Allow Dashboard sharing
The Dashboards are nice in theory, but if I wanted to share this with my boss, I'd need to have him log into my account. Instead, it would be better if I could generate a Private URL to share just the dashboard, in a read-only mode.

Use javascript based on timer to auto slideshow between multiple dashboards
For example, a wallboard type display, the screen would cycle through different dashboards on a timer

Read-Only API Tokens
I'd like to be able to generate a read-only API token that wouldn't allow full-access to my account, but would simply allow the API client to use a "read-only" version for reporting, graphing etc. This would allow me to build in analytics views using HighCharts and the CORS API that you have available via the metrics API.
I wouldn't want people being able to add data points with this API key, but viewing (ideally adding permissions to that key to specific metrics only), would be a great way to handle building my analytics into my own system.

Agreed. We should let you create these and delete them if you want to revoke access to them .

Add option for Incrementing Counters
Take the simple example of "number of visits on a website". Currently I need to count the total number and increment that number locally before sending it to Librato Metrics. Instead, it would be much better if I could simply say "I received 50 in the last 60 seconds", and have Librato Metrics tally up the data points. In this way if I have 50 servers all reporting separately, Librato could sum up those results for me.
I know i could use separate "sources" for the multiple source issue, but take the effect of being in a cloud-based environment where… more

Allow reordering of Dashboard Metrics
Currently the dashboard metrics are not reorderable, in order to change the order I have to delete and re-add my metrics.

We’re going to do another iteration on dashboards after we finish our current work, and control over ordering is definitely on the list for that.

Running costs estimator for trial period
Joe asked me to submit this (way too long ago)... I'm finally getting a "round tuit".
As we're now 11 days into the free trial period... It'd be nice to be able to "estimate" what our running costs will be (in 19 days when we have to start paying), given our current usage.
Have you thought to add a feature for the 30-day trial period where your customers can 'see' what they'd *be* paying, once they're done (assuming they continue)?
I think this feature would encourage users to really "ramp up" and use the service the way they think they… more
